John Leguizamo – Latin History for Morons
Feeling like a second-class citizen isn’t a good feeling. Having to work so hard to validate yourself in this country isn’t a good feeling. Focusing on positive change in the face of anti-Latino rhetoric is hard, but we can if we join together and reclaim our history and our power. That’s why I’ve chosen to speak out and support Latino Public Broadcasting – LPB is a positive force for our truth.
When I wrote Latino History for Morons I wanted to spell out how important Latinos have been to American history. I didn’t want my people left out of history and disparaged as invaders. Right now, Latino issues and concerns are at the center of cultural and political divides. LPB is one of the strongest voices we have to champion our stories nationally on public media.
This is our America and LPB proudly displays all of our achievements. LPB’s work is not simply to give voice to the voiceless, but to give all Americans greater insight into the Latino experience. Every donation counts – $25, $50, $100, $200 – no gift is too small. Please stand with me and make a tax-deductible contribution to support LPB today. If you don’t see yourself represented outside yourself, you become invisible. Please make your voice and your real history as a Latino American heard!
