ABOUT THE FILM-

SoundMix celebrates America’s rich musical landscape through the stories and sounds of five young musicians from diverse backgrounds. The project tells many different kinds of compelling stories – stories of American cultures, regions, and musical styles; stories of mentors passing on traditions; stories of emerging identities; and stories of how people come together through music. The program also represents strong role models from often underrepresented communities and perhaps most importantly, shows how a diverse society, music is a powerful resource that carries traditions, shapes identity, encourages cross-cultural understanding, and builds hope.
