The New York Times Profiles Cynthia Lopez, Newly Appointed New York Film Commissioner

LPB proudly congratulates Cynthia Lopez, LPB board member and former Executive Vice President and Co-Executive Producer of the PBS documentary series POV, for her recent appointment to Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment in New York.

Under Lopez’s leadership, POV has become an excellent platform for showcasing and celebrating women directors, producers, and writers. As one of the founding chairs for the National Association for Latino Independent Producers (NALIP), she has helped launch the next generation of Latino producers, writers, and directors.
