Sixteen years ago, I took a stand for the importance of giving voice to diversity and the Latino American experience on our nation’s public airwaves. Fast-forward to now and Latino Public Broadcasting is the #1 source for Latino programming on PBS.
I give thanks, especially at this time of year that LPB is here to share our real stories, but we need to do much more.
Misinformation about who we are and our achievements are on newsfeeds daily. LPB supports and promotes stories of our collective Latino experience that America needs to know right now. LPB champions stories that inspire and educate not only Latinos, but all Americans about what you can do if you set your mind to it. Positive stories. True stories. Authentic stories about immigration, our culture, our contributions – and the challenges Latinos in America continue to face.

The best way to counteract stereotypes is to share the real Latino American experience. Diversity makes our country and culture stronger, and that’s what LPB does on the largest public media system in America. Our biggest challenge is having the money to do more at a time when LPB is most needed to amplify our voice and expand our impact
To do more and reach more – we need you – right now.
Whether you can give $25, $50, $100, $200 or more, please open your heart and give what you can because every dollar is important and brings us closer to our $10,000 goal.
Please share this link, tweet and post this message to your friends, family and co-workers and ask them to stand up and support the #1 voice for Latino Americans on PBS, our nation’s most trustworthy public media service.
