Fernanda Rossi is a writer, filmmaker and story consultant. She wrote eight feature-length screenplays, most recently an adaption of the novel Elena Sabe by the Argentine best-seller author Claudia Piñeiro. Other scripts, such asPicture Me! was invited at the 2005 Latin American Sundance Screenwriters Laboratory a scene from which in July 2006 she workshopped with French directors Benoit Jacquot and Pascal Bonitzer in the ESAV Director’s Laboratory held in Toulouse, France.

Among the dozens of shorts she wrote,Barehead, to be directed by Elizabeth Kenton, was a semi-finalist at the AFI Women Fellowship Program. The short film Clara como el Agua, the first part of The Trilogy of Empowerment, which she produced and directed will be premiered at the PBS Film Festival and was the winner of the Latino Public Broadcast Media Fund.

Ms. Rossi has doctored over three hundred fiction scripts and documentary films. Some of them are The Intervention by Bo Mehrad and The Good Guy by Julio DePietro, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in May 2009 and commercially released in 2010. The documentaries Recycle Life by Leslie Iwerks andThe Garden by Scott Hamilton Kennedy were nominated for an Academy Award® in the Best Documentary Category in 2007 and 2009.

Fernanda Rossi completed her degree in Film Production at the University of Buenos Aires, which included annual courses in screenwriting for three years. She also completed the Writer’s Boot Camp course and several professional workshops such as Beyond Structure with David Freedman. Her work as a story consultant, workshop leader and filmmaker has been featured in Filmmaker Magazine, New York Times and other publications.
