Felipe Galindo (Feggo) was born in Cuernavaca, Mexico and received a BFA in Visual Arts from the National Autonomus University of Mexico. Mr. Galindo lives in New York City and is a cartoonist, illustrator, independent animator and visual artist.

His new short animation “Manhatitlan Codex”, about an imaginary migration of a group of Mexicans to the New York area, was made in part with grants from NALAC and LMCC. It is also the title of his most recent exhibition. His awarded animations include shorts for MTV’s Liquid Television and “The Manhatitlan Chronicles,” which has been screened at more than 50 film festivals and venues around the world including the Guggenheim Museum in NY and the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid. His humorous artwork has appeared in numerous publications such as The New Yorker, The New York Times, Newsday, The International Herald Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, Crain’s NY, Mad among many others. Plume/Penguin published “Cats Will Be Cats”, a collection of his feline cartoons. He illustrated the children’s book “My Teacher Can Teach Anyone”, Lee & Low Books.

He was awarded an Arts for Transit commission from the NY Metropolitan Transit Authority to create a public art project. The artwork “Magic Realism in Kingsbridge” consists of 4 faceted glass windows in12 panels based in Galindo’s designs and is permanently installed on the platforms of the 231 St. Station of the No.1 line in New York City.
