Three Sneak Peek Presentations of "The Longoria Affair" in So. Cal

THREE SNEAK PEEK PRESENTATIONS OF THE UPCOMING PBS DOCUMENTARY “THE LONGORIA AFFAIR” IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THIS WEEK

Featuring a Q&A with Director/Producer John J. Valadez

Private Felix Longoria was killed in battle fighting the Japanese during World War II. But when his body was sent home to Three Rivers, Texas, the town’s only funeral parlor refused to allow his family to use their chapel because “the whites wouldn’t like it.” The incident sparked national outrage and brought together two savvy political leaders, Senator Lyndon Johnson and Dr. Hector Garcia. THE LONGORIA AFFAIR will air on the PBS series INDEPENDENT LENS, hosted by America Ferrera, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 (check local listings.). The film will air simultaneously in Spanish via SAP and will be available for viewing in full at www.thelongoriaaffair.com in English and Spanish the day after premiere.
