ABOUT THE FILM-

Stealing Home explores contemporary Cuban baseball at the close of the millennium. Using the 1999 Cuban National League Championship as its spine, the documentary examines the tension between players that have left Cuba in search of self-determination and multimillion-dollar contracts, and the socialist government that invests heavily in sports infrastructure and expects its players to stay with the league. At stake in contemporary Cuban reality is the internationally recognized quality of the Cuban National League, which has begun to decline with the defectiveness of its star baseball players.
